The Cameroon Airlines Company Camair-Co has reduced its monthly deficit from CFAF 2 Billion to CFAF 62 Million in just a year.
During a press conference, summoned last November 24, in Yaoundé, Ernest Dikoum General Manager of Camair-co revealed that the national airline company has reduced its monthly financial deficit to CFAF 1.9 billion, between August 2016 and July 2017.
“Last year, when we took over the company, in August , our exploitation deficit was around [CFAF2 billion. After deciding to stop the Paris trip and other destinations, our deficit reduced to 850 million in January . This deficit, in July reached 62 million thanks to the mastering of management techniques and expenses” Ernest Dikoum argued.
To be able to lower its financial deficit, Ernest Dikoum explained that Camair-co has reduced its head offices to 6 and its employees to 595.
Camair Co today counts a total of five planes , “we have one 767-300 (le Dja), two 737-700 latest generation, and the two MA-60”.
