The General Manager of the Cameroon Radio Television (CRTV), Charles Ndongo, said the state broadcasting medium launched a national open call for tenders for the implementation of an internet TV streaming solution.

The project is estimated at a 17 billion FCFA cost after preliminary studies were carried out, revealed the GM.

In a quest for modernization, the CRTV, as announced by Charles Ndongo in February, should open, two new specialized TV channels this year as part of the 2016 move to transit from analog to digital broadcast.

According to reports from Business in Cameroon magazine, the public broadcasting corporation is planning to move from “broadcasting”, open to the entire world to “narrowcasting”, with targeted viewership.

It adds that the opening of a local radio in Kribi, the Southern Cameroon seaside town, is in view.
