The new president of the Nigerian Union in Douala, Hon. Bathilome Ifeanyi Okwujiaku has been commissioned by the Nigerian Consul General for the Littoral and West Regions in Cameroon, H.E. Salmon Shittu.
During the most recent installation event which took place in Akwa, Douala, the Consul General urged Hon. Ifeanyi to attract more Nigerian investors to Cameroon.The event was attended by the representatives of the District Officer of Wouri and the Nigerian High Commissioner to Cameroon.
The new executive members were sworn-in by the Consul General while meritorious certificates where presented to the out-going executive led by Dr. Azeez Mustapha.
In his welcome address, the newly commissioned Union President promised to boost the good bilateral ties between Cameroon and Nigeria.
“Nigerians living in Douala and its environs are much populated with big challenges. Thank God, we are hardworking, law abiding and loving people couple with the peaceful atmosphere and friendly spirit of Cameroonians which make our stay here so awesome.Thanks to the government and the good people of Cameroon for their hospitality.” Said Hon. Ifeanyi.
The colourful ceremony was characterized with Cultural dance performances from Akwa Ibom, eastern region (Igba Ndi Eze) and cultural displays by Ohafia war dance, Kano Jigawa.
