In the bill tabled today at the National Assembly, we learn that the 2018 budget of Cameroon will witness an increase of FCFA 139.7 billion. 

The draft budget is balanced in income and expenditure at FCFA 4513.5 billion against FCFA 4373.8 billion last year thereby showing an increase of FCFA 139.7 billion.

In the explanatory statement of the bill, its revealed that the government will ” step up domestic revenue collection by increasing the tax pressure rate from 12.5% in 2017 to 12.9% in 2018, reduce public spending and keep borrowing under control”
